POLICIES & ORDERING INFORMATION

DISCOUNT POLICIES

Our pricing policy is to discount 10% to all customers on merchandise that we purchase at distributor pricing. This excludes specialty and limited run items that we must purchase through third parties (lines such as Alclad, Automobilia, MEK, MFO, Narwag, RMM, and Elsken to name a few). We offer an additional 5% discount for every purchase on the web site over $250.00 (excluding shipping). All orders over $250.00 include free shipping to anywhere in the USA.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE ORDERING

EVERYTHING we carry is 1:87 scale unless noted. (OK, except the tools, paint and plastic).

The appearance of 'O/S' on the description line of an item, means that item is not in stock, and our supply is VERY undependable. Feel free to order, but understand that delivery time could range from 90 days minimum to forever!
The models and supplies we sell should not be considered toys and are not intended for children under 8 years of age. In all cases, parents should supervise children in the handling of these items.

SHIPPING & HANDLING

Our shipping & handling rates on orders below $250 to the U.S. are as follows:

Orders up to $25.00 = $5.95 Shipping & Handling
Orders from $25.01 - 50.00 = $6.95 Shipping & Handling
Orders from $50.01 - 75.00 = $7.95 Shipping & Handling
Orders from $75.01 - 150.00 = $8.95 Shipping & Handling
Orders from $151.01 - 250.00 = $9.95 Shipping & Handling
Orders over $250.00 = FREE Shipping & Handling in the USA

BACKORDERS are shipped FREE of shipping charges to all customers in the United States and Canada.

Foreign Orders - Billed at actual shipping charges. Allow $9 per pound for USPS Single Piece Post Air. Most orders weigh about 1-1/2 pounds. Any excess refunded. Surface shipping is available (about $4 per pound), but it is slow (4-6 weeks!).

We reserve the right to select the common carrier for shipment. For United Parcel Service (UPS) shipments, we must have your street address (NO P.O. Box). Smaller orders and all Alaska, Hawaii & Canada orders are shipped via the US Postal Service.

SALES TAX

We must collect Nevada State Sales Tax for any shipment to a Nevada address (or any order picked up at our store). Our shopping cart automatically adds 6.75% sales tax to your order if this applies to you.

ADVANCED RESERVE ORDERS

Advanced Reserve items are NOT treated as back-ordered items. Advanced Reserve items will be shipped at our usual rates, as each item becomes available. If two or more items are expected to arrive within a short time of each other, we will combine them into one shipment to save you some shipping and handling fees. If your order includes some in-stock items and some 'advanced reserve' items, we cannot hold the in-stock items while we wait for the manufacturer to get around to producing the new items. We will ship what is available and process the advanced reserve items as a separate order. Please note that once you place an Advanced Reserve order that it becomes a firm order for immediate shipment once the products arrive in our warehouse. All Advanced Reserve items take priority in shipping when we get new items in stock

SPECIAL ORDERS & MERCHANDISE "HOLDS"

We are happy to order any special items you need. Prices are the current Walthers price (sometimes less!) less 10%. Special orders take 2-4 weeks. We will also hold items for you, BUT they will be sold to others if not paid for within 30 days.

PAYMENT

Cashier's Checks, Certified Checks and Money Orders - Your order is shipped promptly!

Visa & MasterCard Orders - Be sure to include your card number, expiration date, and name exactly as it appears on your credit card. We must have the billing address for your credit card. This is the address where you receive your bill! It is not the address of your bank! We are required to input your address and zip code into the Visa/MasterCard system.

Personal Checks - We accept them! Checks over $50 may cause your order to be held subject to the check clearing rules of our bank. A "BAD CHECK" will be prosecuted to the full extent of Nevada law.

We do not ship COD.

Foreign & Canadian orders must be paid for in US Funds. Visa or MasterCard works well (or some form of International Draft).

RETURNS

Returns will be accepted within 30 days of shipment. The item(s) must be returned. If the return is our fault (i.e. shipping damage or error), we will bear the cost of refund or replacement (your choice). If the return is your fault (i.e. you ordered the wrong item), your money will be refunded, less a 20% restock charge.

WARRANTIES

Most manufacturers will honor any claims for missing or damaged parts, even if you are the bozo that lost or damaged them. This information is usually found in their instruction sheet. If you are unsuccessful, please contact Truck Stop Models and we will intervene on your behalf. Built-up models may be returned if unaltered and/or undamaged.

PROBLEMS

While we do our best to avoid them, should you encounter a problem with your shipment, we will do everything we can to resolve it in a timely manner. If you need us, please contact us by mail, fax or e-mail to resolve any problems. If it is of an urgent nature, fax us at (775) 783-9057 or e-mail us.

BACKORDERS

We handle many product lines that are made by 1-person manufacturers and/or come from faraway places. Thus, we recommend you allow us to hold backorders. If you do not want backorders, please note "No Backorders" box on the comments section of order form.

OUR SERVICE PLEDGE

We value your business. Except for occasional shortages, we stock every item in our catalog (unless stated otherwise). We also package your order so it arrives in one piece (except for kits, they are supposed to be in pieces!). You are always #1 at Truck Stop Models. If you ever have a problem, let us know.
